چکیده

As a further theoretical study of the collision-induced quantum interference on rotational energy transfer in an atom-diatom system, the differential interference angles for singlet-triplet mixed states of Na2 system in collision with He were calculated based on the first-Born approximation of time-dependent perturbation theory, taking into account the anisotropic Lennard-Jones interaction potential and the long-range interaction potential. The relationships of differential interference angle versus impact parameter including collision parameter, velocity, are obtained. It is beneficial to reducing the loss in molecular cooling and trapping.

State-to-state resolved differential cross sections for rotationally inelastic scattering of ND3 with He.

State-to-state differential cross sections are reported for rotationally inelastic scattering of fully state-selected ND3 (j(k)(±) = 1(1)(-)) with He. Experimental measurements are compared with full close-coupling quantum-mechanical scattering calculations that used an ab initio potential energy surface. Results are presented for final states up to j'(k')(±) = 7(7)(-) at a mean collision energ...

Inelastic Scattering of CO with He: Polarization Dependent Differential State-to-State Cross Sections.

A joint theoretical and experimental study of state-to-state rotationally inelastic polarization dependent differential cross sections (PDDCSs) for CO (v = 0, j = 0, 1, 2) molecules colliding with helium is reported for collision energies of 513 and 840 cm(-1). In a crossed molecular beam experiment, velocity map imaging (VMI) with state-selective detection by (2 + 1) and (1 + 1') resonance enh...

An analytic model of rotationally inelastic collisions of polar molecules in electric fields.

We present an analytic model of thermal state-to-state rotationally inelastic collisions of polar molecules in electric fields. The model is based on the Fraunhofer scattering of matter waves and requires Legendre moments characterizing the "shape" of the target in the body-fixed frame as its input. The electric field orients the target in the space-fixed frame and thereby effects a striking al...

Quantum-state resolved bimolecular collisions of velocity-controlled OH with NO radicals.

Whereas atom-molecule collisions have been studied with complete quantum-state resolution, interactions between two state-selected molecules have proven much harder to probe. Here, we report the measurement of state-resolved inelastic scattering cross sections for collisions between two open-shell molecules that are both prepared in a single quantum state. Stark-decelerated hydroxyl (OH) radica...

Resonances in rotationally inelastic scattering of OH(X2Π) with helium and neon.

We present detailed calculations on resonances in rotationally and spin-orbit inelastic scattering of OH (X(2)Π, j = 3/2, F(1), f) radicals with He and Ne atoms. We calculate new ab initio potential energy surfaces for OH-He, and the cross sections derived from these surfaces compare well with the recent crossed beam scattering experiment of Kirste et al. [Phys. Rev. A 82, 042717 (2010)]. We id...

Rotationally inelastic scattering of OH by molecular hydrogen: Theory and experiment.

We present an experimental and theoretical investigation of rotationally inelastic transitions of OH, prepared in the X(2)Π, v = 0, j = 3/2 F1f level, in collisions with molecular hydrogen (H2 and D2). In a crossed beam experiment, the OH radicals were state selected and velocity tuned over the collision energy range 75-155 cm(-1) using a Stark decelerator. Relative parity-resolved state-to-sta...
